Researchers Create Database Tracking Nonprofit Grant Terminations Nationwide
Adds to the National Council of Nonprofits Database on Executive Orders
From the San Francisco Chronicle:
As of April 25th, the Trump administration has cancelled more than $300 million in research grants to California institutions. Across the country, nearly 400 grants funded by the National Science Foundation have been cancelled since April 18th and nearly 800 National Institutes of Health grants have been cancelled since March.
Noam Ross, executive director of the nonprofit rOpenSci, and Scott Delaney, a Harvard epidemiologist, have created public databases to track both NSF and NIH grant terminations. These databases are continually updated based on information submitted by researchers and government data.
The database adds to the National Council on Nonprofits database on executive orders affecting nonprofit organizations. Both provide some good data for nonprofits, especially for scholars and practitioners involved in litigation with the evil empire.
