Two Nonprofit AI Watchdogs detail continuing problems and offer solutions
The future structure of OpenAI
A nonprofit group called The Midas Project has teamed up with another nonprofit called The Tech Oversight Project and together the two IT watchdogs have written a highly critical report called “The OpenAI Files.” “The OpenAI Files is the most comprehensive collection to date of documented concerns with governance practices, leadership integrity, and organizational culture at OpenAI.” The report contains six substantive sections: (1) Restructuring Concerns, (2) CEO Integrity, (3) Transparency & Safety, (4) CEO & Board Conflicts, (5) Employee Testimonies, and (6) Vision for Change.
